T43 (2668-F7G) or T43p?
T43 (2668-F7G) or T43p?
I've got the T43 but have to buy a new machine. I'll be getting a 15" like my current T43. I really like the T43 - the build, keyboard, and flex-view.
My use is 90% writing and reading articles etc. and 5% counter strike.
I'm considering T43 (2668-F7G) which I currently have or the T43p.
1. How much better is the fireGL graphics card on the T43p compared to the x300 for playing CS?
2. Will the 1600*1200 be much smaller text than the 1450*1050 which I'm using now and which I'm satisfied with?
3. Should I have any concerns on getting the T43p rather than the 'ordinary' t43 with flex-viet etc. other than price?
4. Should I go witht the T43(2668-F7G) or the T43p?
Thanks
Rex

Do you play CS source on it?renderful wrote:I have a T40 with the Radeon 7500 and I play Counterstrike with all of the highest setting and it runs perfect without even getting hot.

Smugiri: yup, it's good to escape off to never-land and do a killing-spree when the diapers almost got the better of you
1) The graphics card is going to be quite a bit better, but I dont think worth the extra from a t43 to a t43p. Couldn't you buy a t43p motherboard and stick it in your t43 if you have to?
2) Having used a 15" t43p, I can say that the writing will be smaller than what your used to, but still quite nice. Its not miniscule by any means. You will enjoy the extra desktop space more than anything.
3) The t43p is more or less identical to the t43 apart from the graphics card and screen resolution from what I can gather (maybe harddrive space/speed too?) You will notice overall that the t43p is a quicker computer.
4) Well, in your original message you said you have to buy a new machine, if you have to, then get a t43p you wont be disapointed. If you could save the cash, then do so, put it in a high interest account for a while till they start shipping t60p's a little more frequently and buy one of those!
