T40 lags for a few seconds from standby

#1 Post by simms » Wed Mar 22, 2006 6:31 pm

When I start up my computer from standby, there is a 2 second pause before the mouse and the keyboard are active. Is this normal or can I fix this problem?

Thanks!

Figured out the problem. I had OMEGA drivers installed that caused the delay. When I installed IBM drivers, the delay went away :)

Delay of a couple of seconds isn't unusual for me at all.
2668-75U T43, 2GB RAM, 2nd hand NMB kybd, Dock II, spare Mini-Dock, and spare Port Replicators. Wacom BT tablet. Ultrabay 2nd HDD.
2672-KBU X32, 1.5GB RAM, 7200 rpm TravelStar HDD.

Yea, it wasn't too bad, but just a bit annoying. When I used the IBM drivers though, I can use the mouse/keyboard the instant I see it on the screen. *thumbs up*

And the performance in games is not on par with Omega drivers.

I had some regular issues going INTO suspend with the Omega drivers. Now, I just log out and hibernate ... no need to suspend the way I work.
