I can get the diskette image extracted with WinRar (I can't find it any other way). A CD image sounds good to me as well. In my case, I just used the non-diskette image. I just happen to like the diskette method, and as has been noted, we need that (or the CD) for non-Windows systems.

I am one of those people who runs every update on all the IBM stuff (except for client security) so I can report on the results. I also find no negatives to keeping my machine up-to-date.

I used to like the diskette method too as I could just keep a supply of diskettes for all the systems I had to work with but that changed when i have to use a USB FDD as it is soooo slow.

You make a good point about non-windows systems though, I think the CD will probably be more suitable in this situation too as an ISO image is pretty universal whereas the diskette creator program may not be.
