Crucial (www.crucial.com) is the preferred memory for Thinkpads, but there are many other offerings that are equally suitable.

Newegg (www.newegg.com) has 1GB Kingmax memory on sale for ~$100 delivered.

You can also search for memory for your system here:

I'll second the recommendation for crucial.

If you search newegg, you can find OEM Crucial RAM for a lower cost... best of both worlds.
T43 (2687-DUU) - 1.86GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 100GB 5400 (non IBM-firmware Hitachi 5k100) HD, Fingerprint Scanner, 802.11abg/Bluetooth, ATI x300

The prices for Crucial memory at newegg seem lower than anywhere else I can find.

I see you refered to this as OEM memory, does that imply it's not in retail packaging when purchased by newegg from Crucial or when shipped from newegg to consumers? Any other downsides to this, such as warranty issues, or maybe higher failure rates from handling OEM electronics through retail supply chain channels?
