Battery options?

#1 Post by kam_ » Thu Mar 23, 2006 7:31 pm

I notice that my t43p comes with a 6 cell Li-Ion battery. What other options are there?

From what i can see there is a Li-Ion Polymer battery which can be added to the CD bay, and a 9 cell Li-Ion battery that replaces the 6 cell one but sticks out of the back.

Are the 6 cell and 9 cell ones Lithium Ion polymer too? If not do such batteries exist?

The ultrabay battery is a lithium polymer battery (different technology than lithium ion), and as far as I know, there's only one version of it.

Take a look here for all the different battery options.

Exactly Lithium Polymer are newer and hold alot more charge but are more expensive.

I guess the short answer is that they only make the slim bay battery as Lithium Polymer. That's too bad :(

Why doesn't lenovo design one of those clip on batteries that attaches to the bottom of the notebook like a dock? I wouldn't mind carrying around an extra few pounds if it meant if I could double battery time.
