My laser printer appears as default printer in my "home profile" network.
Printer isn't connected to a wireless device or networked and it prints from my T41!

Laser printer is connected to a pc on the network and that's it/

How can this be???
Would appreciate someone explaining.....

What a great feature, wasn't able to do this with my trendnet pc card.

Erm..

You must have shared the the printer on the computer its connected to. Just like you can share a folder from one computer, you can also share a printer.

Your T41 is sending the print job to the printer via the PC. You must have browsed to that PC and connected to the shared printer at some point.

Its not an ibm feature, its part of windows. Thats why the option is called 'file and print sharing'

I checked and the pc with the printer is indeed shared....
I would like to do the same with a dell laptop. The dell has a wired connection. Where are the settings in xp to locate this printer and accesss it?

BTW.... I'm still getting familiar with xp after moving up from win98... couple of months ago.....

Go to the printers and faxes folder, click on add printer, click next, click on a networked printer attached to another computer, click next, select browse for a printer and follow the rest of the wizard.
