Upgrade install on existing original XP - is it possible ?

#1 Post by danny_isr » Sun Mar 26, 2006 10:04 am

Is there a way to install XP again ON my current one without formatting or removing the old install
Using the hidden partition install ?

I have lot’s of problem on my original install , and I thought maybe upgrade will solve few (like the no internet after STBY , and others that I already posted here – with no solution(.

Before I’m doing a total new format – install , I thought to give the Upgrade a chance if it’s possible

Thanks Danny

danny, it is possible to do a repair install, using the retail version of XP, you can specify which partition you want to repair. Don't think you can do this with the recovery cd's.

When you load the CD and it examines your system it after pressing F8 to agree with the terms you will see a screen, install a fresh copy, ete, etc, the one below that says repair the existing installation.
