Internal WiFi part numbers for T42? (How's it's white list?)

#1 Post by mybellyisempty » Mon Mar 27, 2006 9:23 am

I'm getting a T42 off someone in these forums, but it only comes with an 802.11B card.

I want 802.11G. Hell, ABG would be even better...but G is what matters most.

What part numbers do I need to look for for internal WiFi?

Would Atheros or Intel be better for running Linux (Ubuntu)?

I know there's a bit of a whitelist, but how do they apply to the Intel cards that make it a Centrino? Could I use a 2200BG, say...from a Dell, and have it work? Or do you need an IBM-specific 2200BG? I used the Atheros ABG cards in the past when I owned an X31, T41P, T41, and T42P...
