Logistic issue with external monitor

#1 Post by Paul Comeaux » Thu Mar 30, 2006 10:30 am

I have ordered a Dell 20 inch widescreen monitor. I have a T42 and a Minidock.

I would like to somehow have the monitor directly in front of me--not off to the side. Has anyone found a stand or something else that will allow the T42 screen to be put flat (i.e., opened 180) and slide under a stand, or some similar solution?

I used to have a stand that Radio Shack sold for use with their Color Computer 3 (late model TRS-80), that might work. Looked a little like this. ;)

I'd look for an USB keyboard/mouse combo. Lenovo sells a stand for the notebook which puts the screen up about the same height as an LCD monitor, allowing dual monitor use.

Oh, this is new: http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/472896/3463

An IBM/Levono ThinkPad Monitor Stand 2001 will allow you to do that!

I have one, and while I use it in with the ThinkPad closed and on a dock, it would certainly work fine in the way you envisage using it!

Cheers,

Bill
