Thinkpad Pricing

#1 Post by Jiro » Fri Mar 31, 2006 9:45 pm

Hi, Im wondering how much my thinkpad costs since its a 2004 model and depreciation has to be taken account of...

I got a T41 model 2373 7FU 1.6ghz its got a 14.1 XGA monitor with the 9cell battery? (its the one that sticks out) and I also upgraded to an 80 gig seagate momentus 7200.1 rpm hard drive. very good condition. hmm... the top lid has a bit of wear... has an authentic Windows XP key lol.. and 640mb ram.

im guessing like 1000 bucks? cause like ive seen some dells with the same specs almost and about the same price

That's a very plain vanilla machine, I'd say you'd be fortunate to get somewhere between $700 and $800.

Have a look at some of the machines that recently sold or are presently for sale in User For Sale/Want to Buy.

Oh thats not too bad then haha I meant 1000 canadian and i think you meant american money?

Sorry i have another question too... Im looking at all the T4x models and the shell looks pretty much the same... does this mean I can basically change my mobo to any of these other model's, say a T43p, if i wanted to?

Had you said 1000 Loonies instead of 1000 bucks, I would have had some idea you're a denizen of the Great White North.

The T43 lower cases are slightly different than the earlier T4X machines, but I'm not sure if this carries over to the MBs as well.

It's decent. I'm actually located in Toronto and looking to buy a T41, for around your asking price.

Let me know if you'd be willing to sell.
