IBM atheros II mini-pci and region support?

#1 Post by blackomegax » Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:52 am

As i posted to a blog long ago that fell into obscurity, http://obscuretechhacks.blogspot.com/20 ... -hack.html

Adding euro channel support to a 2200BG is easy, and should apply to a 2915 too if the fields are the same..otherwise just look for wherever "ZZA" is and change to "ZZE" or "ZZJ"

My question is, is there any way to do this to the 5004X chipset atheros mini-pci on an eeprom level? (and maybe enable 108mbit turbo-AG, for those wanting that support for so long now)

I havnt bothered to look and see if ethtool will do anything yet.

Hi, sorry for reviving this old thread.

I wonder if someone has found a way to enable the extra channels for IBM-branded Atheros cards. Does the European/Japanese card really differ from the US card in the level of hardware? I tried installing the Japanese driver for the US card but it didn't make a difference. I've looked everywhere in the operating system but couldn't find the option to enable the extra channels. I've done everything before abandoning the US card.

Any clue is greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Tony

Found this thread thanks to Johan! Thanks a lot pal! It's exactly what I've been looking for.

I'll install Linux and try it out once I have some time. I'll post my experience for those who are interested!
