I got a free Thinkpad T40!

#1 Post by Paxonator » Sat Apr 08, 2006 8:25 pm

Hi I've been reading this forum for a long time and now everything I’ve learned can be used. I got this T40 from work because it had been dropped, along with a t23. The lcd has minor damage but it still usable, the hard drive was bad but I had another laying around and also I bought an ac adapter off of eBay. This laptop is awesome but I was surprised to find that it did not have built in wireless where the t23 does. This thing feels very solid with the keyboard being far better than my armada m700's. I just thought I would share this with you guys :D . Here are a few pictures.

Looks like I need some help with the images lol.

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums :)

It is perfectly fine to leave those as links instead of pictures, unless you put a warning in the title of the post.

That looks like a very nice T40 you snagged there. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Yeah besides the lcd corruption and busted up corner it's awesome. But I mean really I have no reasons to complain seeing as it was free. I haven't checked for the bluetooth antena yet, but i seem to remember reading that added wireless internally was pretty expensive. As compared to my 20 dollar pcmcia card lol.

Cool deal. Free is free. You can always add/change stuff later.

Very sweet deal. I would have taken them in a heart beat and just replaced the LCD and not worried to much about the plastics.

Pretty sweet.

My dad once told me...there is no free lunch in this world. I tend to be skeptical.
