Speedstep not working?

#1 Post by jordi32 » Wed Jul 28, 2004 4:32 am

I have the CPU on Adaptive speed setting but the CPU does not slow down according to the Intel Processor frequency ID utility. Why?

Thank you.

You probably have the setting wrong. In the Battery Maximizer utility make sure that you're setting up the correct power scheme for the power supply you're running off of. Meaning- Set it up for adaptive in both AC and battery usage.

In order to have it run adaptive while plugged in you have to
1)make a new power scheme
2)right click on it and choose modify
3)modify the AC setting on it

I guess the intel utility only shows the max. working speed of the CPU.
In order to see the real instant speed, you can try to use the following tools:

CPU-Z: Show much info. about your system.
MobileMeter: Great tool for monitoring your system.
