Hi, I have a quick question: I am currently using the port replicator and understand that it only has one audio-input jack. I have a Logitech 4 (2 front/2 back) speakers THX set that I would like to hook up. The thing is, the speaker set requires 2 inputs to maximize quality. Right now, I can only hear from the front two speakers. What can I do to utilize the other two?
Thanks + happy easter.

probably have to get a usb or pci audio card, i know audigy makes a good one. you could also try a headphone splitter, but i don't think that will preserve the sound quality.

Re: Port Replicator + Speakers
The Thinkpad has a stereo (2 channel or 2 speaker ie Front left and right)sound card while you have a THX speaker setup that is minimum 5+1 channels (ie Front left and right, rear left and right and center + subwoofer) or maybe even 7+1 channels.nichihan wrote:Hi, I have a quick question: I am currently using the port replicator and understand that it only has one audio-input jack. You need to upgrade your sound card and the Creative Audigy that was suggested is a good bet.

i understand wat u mean...
for full THX, u'll need to get either a Creative Audigy NX USB or Creative Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA...
i've got a crazy idea... did u know that ur laptop's speaker still function even when its on the port replicator?
so i would suggest that u insert 1 of the plugs into the audio jack of the port replicator and the other plug into the audio jack of ur laptop.
although u do not get the surround effects, at least u r utilising all ur 4 speakers...
