Fujitsu Crystal View Vs. IBM Thinkpad T42 IPS

#1 Post by blueman8 » Thu Jul 29, 2004 1:58 pm

Hi all,

I'm debating between a Fujitsu C2310 at portableone.com and a T42 with IPS.

The Fujitsu has a large 15 inch Crystal View screen (300 nits). I've seen the screen, and it's amazing.

How bright is the IPS screen?

The Fujitsu is nice...but it's HEAVY and not built as well as a Thinkpad.

Thanks!

15" IPS: 200 nits
14" LCD: 150 nits

Flexview is nice, but you notice the increased viewing angle more than the increased brightness of Crystalview or Xbrite. The IBM screen doesn't have the same "wow" factor.

I too have been wondering about the Fujitsu CrystalView, but my main
concern is viewing angle. Does anyone know the angle numbers and/or
how it compares to Flexview?
Thanks a lot!

The new screen technologies are very bright. I'm sure you pay in battery life though.

I was in my car the other day and had to use my TP. I was amazed that I could see my screen during a typical sunny SoCal day. I could never do that with my old HP...

I guess that's bright enough for me!
