NMB keyboard?

#1 Post by pae77 » Fri Apr 21, 2006 1:29 pm

I just received a new replacement NMB keyboard FRU = 39T0519 for my T42p. This is the same FRU number for the keyboard that came with my machine and is listed as an "NMB" keyboard. I was under the impression that this was supposed to be the Thai keyboard, however, it has a sticker on it that says "Made in China." Is this the same as the Thai Keyboard or does this mean there is no more Thai keyboard?

There is no more NMB Made in Thailand keyboards; it is now NMB Made in China. I think they ceased production at the end of October 2005 and most of the remaining inventory have been used up around February 2006.

Well, I'm pleased to say that it feels about the same as the NMB (not sure if it is Thai or Chinese) that came with my TP manufactured by Lenovo in Sept. 05.

the NMB's are the best keyboards.

Chickony's are the absolute worst.

Alps are somewhere in between, but not as nice as the NMB's

From my observations on the board, this is what I found out:

T4x: NMB > CHICONY > ALPS
T6x: NMB > ALPS > CHICONY

I have a CHICONY keyboard on my T43 and the only issue I find is that it makes a lot of noise when I type.
