Port replicator II compatibility question

I'm a novice at using a docking station for my T42 so excuse me if this is really a silly question. I want to use my T42 with my Dell desktop system monitor, printer, keyboard, speakers. The Dell uses Windows ME. Will the port replicator II be compatible? Is that even an issue?

As long as the plugs fit and any required device drivers are available for Windows XP, there's no issue.

Even without device drivers you will probably be OK on the XP default drivers for that set of hardware... the printer will probably be the most problematic device.

Do you plan on using some type of KVM switch to go back and forth?

As far as a KVM switch, I don't know what that is.

A KVM switch allows you to share KeyboardsVideo(and)Mice among other things with two computers, and be able to switch with either a physical switch or a keyboard shortcut - between the two.

It should come in handy if you own the Port Replicator II. Just attach the cables, and once you dock. You can switch between what controls what.
