Help! All the sudden my Atheros WiFi won't power on!?!?

#1 Post by dxben » Tue Apr 25, 2006 1:10 pm

Weirdest thing is happening to my T41p. Out of nowhere I lose my wifi connection. I reboot, and still can't connect. I hit Fn+F5 and I get a message saying that the system cannot change the power status of the wifi driver, and the wifi card is missing from the menu, only the bluetooth remains. It then says to update my drivers.

Wth is going on? I am on my desktop now. I tried disabling and then re-enabling my wifi card, and nothing has helped.

What? Why would that be? And it appears to have just happened this morning, it was working until about an hour ago.

I had the same thing happen to me as well. And as "cmarti' suggested, SystemRestore did the trick.

Also, if you don't want to do a System Restore, you can remove Intel Ethernet and Atheros drivers from the drive manager, reboot the laptop and you'll be back in business as well.
