Upgrade 802.11b; which adapter?

Hi,

I am considering to replace my Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 b adapter. I often loose connection, and the speed will not be enough in the near future.

Before my current laptop I had a T41 with an Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 b/g, and I think it had a larger range (is that possible? ) and I never lost connection with my router.

Maybe another brand is better?
Has anyone some advice about which mini pci adapter to buy?

My Intel Pro Wireless 2915ABG works fine. I think the huge range is possible and partly attributed to the thinkpad design of having 2 antennae on either side of the lcd. Also before upgrading to latest wifi drivers, the adapter used to broadcast a huge distance [seems to be a shorter distance these days for some reason].

Regarding the dropped signals, I tend to find that it depends more on the access point than the wifi cards.

Intel 3915 is the newer chipset it has like 1 or 2 extra features to the 2915 but they aren't major features.

My opinion is buy something that does the job. Don't get something too flash. 802.11n (next generation wifi) standard is almost finalised, and there are already products seeping through supporting that. Which means the current stuff is likely to become obsolete in the next 5 years maybe.

I think it's hard to find a miniPCI wireless Lan Card to work fine in TP.
I know some card in TP that could not work.Some error message show up.
