IBM PC Registration

#1 Post by ThinkPad » Sun Apr 30, 2006 1:36 pm

Ive had this icon on my desktop for the longest time. Should I a.) delete it or b.) complete it.

What are the real benefits to registering, I hope its not some way to monitor activity or get information to send spam?? :?

First time you got 'A' computer or the current computer?

How do I effectively remove it?

Is it a shortcut, or a desktop icon (e.g. My Computer, My Network Places, Internet Explorer)?

When I get a new thinkpad and turn it on after windows loads I register the new thinkpad with IBM. Then after that I start removing the stuff I don't need, the IBM PC registration icon goes.

Well, of course it's safe to delete, but if there are no other shortcuts like this, then you lose it. You could always just move it to an IBM folder on your Start Menu.

Why not register, then delete it? This way you get kept up to date any recalls or updates for your system. Stop being a wuss, just register and get it over with. ;)
