Buying a PCMIA Firewire Card for T42

#1 Post by WizardHowl » Sun Aug 01, 2004 9:16 am

I need to buy a firewire card for my t42 because I want to transfer minidv videos onto my computer. However, my Sony Camcorder DCR-PC109, says that it needs i.link which might not exactly work with firewire? I dont' really understand this, do I need a special firewire sony made pcmia card or can I just use ANY firewire card. Also what type of cable should I use? Thanks

Not special just cheap. If Sony called it Firewire they would have to give Apple a royalty. iLink & Firewire are both the same as T23_Owner said.

I have a SIIG firewire card and it works fine in my T-41, but I had to change the BIOS setup first. See this thread :
