Did a Factory Restore after crash, now everything seems old?

#1 Post by Delmarco » Mon May 08, 2006 7:15 am

Okay,
Last week my T41 crashed and I did a full system restore using the IBM Bios retore tool (pressed the blue button at boot up). Now everything is working fine again, but the IBM software seems dated. Like my IBM WiFi software looks like it has windows 98 style interface now.
Before the interface was newer looking and had a radar detection style of all the wireless points nearby. Now its just list them in a grey box and gives no details on what the signal proximity or strength is like.
There is a few other details that look different/older now.

Is there something I need to update or that may have been updated before I bought my T41 but now the older factory version has replaced?

Also does this BIOS update I keep hearing about have anything do with this? How do I know if I need one?

Download Software Installer from the following link, install, then it will find all the latest updates available for your T41. You choose which (if any) of these updates you wish to install. :)

Also check in control panel/system properties/advance/performance.

And check there if selected so windows can adjust it to what is best for your computer.

Not for better performance.

In addition to the above suggestions, also run windows or Microsoft update to update the OS.
