Hard Drive Upgrade

#1 Post by PCO » Mon Aug 02, 2004 2:46 pm

Hi,

I'm looking at an IBM Thinkpad T41 (2378DMU) [P-M 1.4 MHz, 256 MB (will upgrade) CDRW/DVD] and I was wondering if it was possible to just swap the 30 GB 4200rpm hard for a 40 GB 5400rpm hard drive through IBM when i purchase it. The IBM site'only lists options for additional hard drives, but it is possible to just swap the hard drives and pay the difference. If so, does anyone have any idea of how much that might cost.

Thanks.

If IBM does not list it as an upgrade they won't do it. You can buy the HD from IBM and do it yourself. There are several programs that will copy everything from your origianl hard drive to the new. Stick the new one in your laptop and you are ready to go.
