I'd play it safe and contact Bill, admin of this site. I'm sure he can help you out! :)

Yes.

This is essentially my main machine (until I get my T42 set up...). At that price it is an excellent value.

Looks like this is a discontinued model. Are all of T23s discontinued after introducing the T4x series? Does anyone know of any problems with this model?

If you follow the link in the FAQ entry #1 and look at tawbook, you'll find that the T23 series was discontinued in the first half of 2003 after the introduction of the T30.

At the bottom of the ad, by the way, it says it's a refurbished unit with only a 90-day warranty.

Having said that, I have a T23 that I've been using for about 2.5 years, and I've been very pleased with it.

Thanks a lot nonny. I am concerned about the bus speed. Is 133 Mhz enough for most of the applications? Mostly I will use the laptop for internet access and listening to music. I do some programming occasionally.

Also, is $900 a good price for the model 26479RU?

The price is really good. And don't worry about the speed. It will handle your applications. Keep us informed how you like it.

Edit: This model originally came with Windows XP. You might be able to get the Recovery CD set from IBM.

You will love that machine. Ultrabay 2000 devices are dirt cheap now. You won't notice a speed difference at all. I have almost the same model T23 and I also have a T42p with the 2ghz dothan and I tell you the speed improvement isn't noticable for most things. My T42p boots photoshop like 3 seconds faster. Big woop.

The Pentium III M is essentially the same processor as the Pentium M despite the hype.
