Why does my LCD keep turning back on? Grr help!

#1 Post by Ashiaveli » Fri May 12, 2006 9:47 pm

Hey,

I hit fn+F3 to turn my screen off and it turns back on a few min after. i've had to turn my brightness all the way down then almost close the lcd so i can go to sleep without the light bothering me.

Any ideas?

Obviously some program you're running in the background is "waking" the display.

What's wrong with simply closing the display?

Thing is I don't have anything running but uTorrent and msn. I'm gonna close msn, maybe that's it. check my processes and see if i see anything thing. It wasn't a problem till a few days ago. I don't want to suspend my comp just turn of the screen.

You can set the computer to NOT suspend when you close the display while on AC!

Go into power settings and select "Do nothing" when the display is closed.

And what did you install or configure a few days ago? That's your most important clue. ;)
