Hello All,
I have an ibm t42p that i just rebuilt to win xp pro. no sound is playing at all. i went onto ibms website and downloaded the soundmax driver which worked for one day it seems and then stopped entirely.
What driver can I use that will work?
Also i have 3 volume buttons on the keyboard (up, down, mute) that do not seem to work any longer. Does anyone know how to get this to work as well?
Any help greatly appreciated.

actually the driver does work and the buttons work as well. the only thing that doesnt work is the visual display that you get when you press the buttons. where would you get that from?
basically green bars would appear on the bottom center of the screen indicating how high or low the volume control is. I would like to get this back. any thoughts?
also when you lower the volume from the buttons it doesnt lower the microsoft volume control, the one on the computer. it seems that they are mutually exclusive.....so odd

This is what you need: Hotkey driver for Windows 98/Me/NT 4.0/2000/XP - ThinkPad General!
Download driver and double-click on it to extract the files to your hard drive. Normally software downloaded from IBM goes to the C:\DownloadDirector directory.
You can then run Software Installer to install (uncheck box to connect to internet). If you don't want to use Software Installer, navigate to where the files were extracted to and double-click on setup.exe. C:\DRIVERS\WIN\HOTKEY
