I've got ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery version 3.01.0037.00 installed atop a fresh, fully-patched, all-ThinkPad-drivers-loaded Windows XP Professional OS install.
When I press F11 during boot in an attempt to load the standalone R&R environment, I get "NTLDR missing".
I had this working once before -- it's very cool -- but after a system reinstall it just won't work again. I've tried rebuilding from scratch several times, to no avail. Anybody have any ideas?

Did you use the Product Recovery Disc set for your system reinstall, or did you use some other Windows install CD?
The Product Recovery Disc set will give you the option to enter the R&R environment. If you performed a system reinstall with a Windows install CD, that must have damaged the master boot record as far as R&R is concerned.
Perhaps the following will work for you.

I installed from a (legal) Windows XP SP2 VLM CD. My HDD is the 160GB Seagate and it has no service partition so I don't think the diskette you so kindly linked to will help me -- and it worries me that the linked page is talking about a BIOS flash! When this worked before, I had installed from the same media to the same hardware -- I've been wracking my brain to figure out what I might have done differently. Perhaps I will try a fresh install and then immediate installation of R&R before installing anything else.
BTW, I am also installing the Client Security Solution as part of the R&R package. Do you think that might make a difference? I've had trouble getting the CSS and R&R to work properly when installed individually.
