ThinkVantage screw up

#1 Post by kuma » Mon May 22, 2006 9:34 pm

My wireless is all messed up, I have two ThinkVantage programs on the bottom right toolbar, one that has the green wireless bar meter, the other is a computer and when I click on that I can select which network to connect to. Well the Green wireless bar one thinks that my wireless radio is turned off.
Help please.

I'm not really understanding what you mean?
If I uninstall how do I get the new copy? If I can't get online?
I'll try and downloading the most recent copy now. Any idea where?

Thanks.

Some places to look to remove icons from the notification area.

First, go to Start > Connect To > Show all connections. Right-click on wireless adapter, choose Properties, and uncheck box: Show icon in notification area when connected.

Next go to Start > All Programs > Intel Network Adapters > Intel(R) PROSet for Wired Connections. Uncheck box: Show the tray icon.

Finally, you can right-click on the Taskbar, choose Properties > check box: Hide inactive icons. Next click on Customize and set icons for Always hide, Hide when inactive, or Always show, depending upon your preference. Click OK, OK.

That is not it. My software thinks that my wireless radio is off. How do I fix that?

Try uninstalling Access Connections and your wireless adapter driver in Windows Add or Remove Programs. Reboot and choose cancel when the Found Hardware Wizard comes up. Now reinstall your wireless driver and reboot again. Finally reinstall Access Connections.

Be sure and use the correct wireless driver (version) that is compatible with your version of Access Connections. See following page:
