Hello all. Just got my new-to-me T40 from the FedEx guy today. All looks very good. Still have 2 months on the warranty (yay!).
So, I'm not sure what extended warranty option to go for. Looks like I can get 3yr on site 9x5/next day for $119 or 4-year depot for $110.
I'm leaning towards the 4-year deal but have never dealt with IBM/Lenovo warranties before. (My other ThinkPad is an old i1400 that never broke, even though it was a low-end model).
Thanks for any advice!
(By the way, I already ordered a new battery. These guys have the regular battery for under $50 shipped; they claim it's a new IBM part. We'll see! http://store.shentech.com/ibm1044libaf1.html)
What warranty?
Oops. Looks like I was reading the warranty stuff wrong.
So, I should buy the 4-year or 5-year depot option (thus getting an extra year or two, respectively). The out-of-warranty coverage is more expensive ($169 for a year).
Thanks.
http://zurich.ai.mit.edu/hypermail/thin ... /0321.html...all warranty extensions begin on the same day as the original warranty. Ergo, a four year EZServe (depot) extension will gain you _ONE_ net year more of warranty!
