Motherboard Upgrade

I want to upgrade my motherboard to one that has directx9 and 128mb. Im guessing the t42p one with the ATI 128mb Fire GL T2, Anyone know whats involded, im guessing SXGA LCD and SXGA LCD cable, inverter is the same for the mobo I have.

Motherboard/long fan m10/artic silver 5/manual available in IBM website/some tools/patience.

Is the use of the long fan necessary or is the normal fan just fine when doing this upgrade?

I believe that it was stated in the past that the long fan was necesary because of the extra heat generated by the more powerful GPU, but I could be mistaken.

But I need to do the lcd though right? or will the XGA lcd work?

I dont need a manual, I've taken this all apart before, its all grownup lego to me.

How much did your upgrade cost? Nice tp btw!

Around $900.00 but i didn't expend all that because i sell the parts that i remove on EBAY. :wink:

oh yes and ive been looking for an internal dvd burner for my t41 is this possible?
