Hi there!
I'm getting tired of the slow 2100B in my T42; presumeably I can just buy a 2200BG or similar and stuff it in? Or is there anything I need to take note of?
What about the antenna, do I need to replace that one too?
Upgrading 2100B wireless (T42)?
You just need an IBM branded card. For instance an Intel 2200BG generic card, or one from a Dell will give you an 1802 error, and your laptop won't boot. If you get the Intel 2200BG from IBM, it will work fine (that's what I have). You can overcome the first limitation by running a program called 1802.com - I haven't tried it personally though.
