SUGGESTIONS BEFORE ORDERING T42!!

Hey guys. I've been reading this forum and doing a bunch of research on a T42 this past week (even at work... shhhh...!!). I plan on ordering mine tonight at 12:01AM when the SC tax free weekend kicks in.

Are you guys familiar with the T42 23733XU from the IBM edu site?

1.7, 15' SXGA, 512 MB, RADEON 9600, cdrw,dvd.. etc:
for about $1850.

I'm not familiar with this WSCA contract tho (WSCA contract #94-00151). Does it mean that as long as I'm a resident of SC and going to be using this laptop for college, i can order it?

Well, I'm pretty sure that this is a good deal. I've researched, compared, cancelled previous orders (hehe), and almost 99% sure that I WILL ORDER. Can you guys help me reach 100%??!!!!

tax free weekend? what do you mean by this?

SC started TAX free weekend about 4-5 years ago. During the first weekend in August, we dont get taxed on most things school related. These include clothes, books, COMPUTERS, shoes... i've looked it up at the sctax website and it said that online orders are also tax free!!... atleast i hope it is... (i can save almost $150)

I would recommend you phone in your order since IBM's online order system might not be updated with the tax free information. Definitely a good deal at $1850.

Dude...I paid 2400 for that same model last week! , well is it the 60gig 7200rpm model? anyway, it seems like a good deal reagardless.

no, its only the 40gig 5400 hd. I ordered it this morning... with no tax and free shipping it came out to $1840!!!!! I have to give IBM props for having everything setup online. The no tax was already taken into consideration for this "holiday."

Now the wait for it is killing me!
