Battery does not charge during AC power usage. T40

Hi all,

I have a T40 thinkpad. When I use AC power, the battery is not charged. However, after I take out the battery while AC power is used (the computer is still on), then plug in the battery, it starts charging.

Please let me know if it is normal.. I updated the BIOS and Embedded control a few days ago.

What is the % of the battery is remaining (indicated by the battery monitor)? If it's above 95%, I don't think it will charge.

Hello Grantus,

It had about 70% charge. After I took out the battery and plug it again, it started charging again until 100%.
