Bluetooth upgrade in T42 (2373-3VU)

How do I check to see if I have the bluetooth antenna built into my TP (without opening it and looking)> And, if I have the antenna which FRU do I need to order? If I don't have the antenna is there any way to get an internal bluetooth solution without buying a new TP?

And yes even if you don't have the antenna you can add it just like i did and have the bluetooth built in.

I think you will have active the bluetooth but your pc won't recognize any devices whe you do an scan for devices.

Antenna is required .

The Communication Daughter Card (CDC) with Bluetooth for the T42 is FRU #27R1880.
The Bluetooth antenna is FRU #91P6897.

The Bluetooth antenna is about 5 inches long and attaches inside the left side of the LCD cover. If you don't want to open the LCD cover, then you can probably find enough room for it under the keyboard.

(Note: The end of the antenna is metallic; make sure to insulate it before laying it in top of other components.)
