standby?

#1 Post by tyrael » Thu Jun 01, 2006 5:12 pm

For some odd reason whenever I try to press fn+f4 nothing would happend and when I try to put it on standby manually nothing would happen.

Has this happened to anyone before and does anyone know of a solution?

-Thanks

PS Do you guys prefer hibernate or standby?

This did happen to me once before. I also had some other problems. I ended up restoring to factory contents. I know of no easy fix other than to try Windows System Restore. In my case System Restore was broken for some reason, so I could not try this.

Some software can prevent Standby. You can't go into Standby while a video is playing. It has been reported that Alcohol 120% will prevent Standby as well.

Hm, thanks for the advice GomJabbar, I'll probably do system restore.
And I don't think I changed anything in the msconfig recently.

I think this can be disabled in Power Manager ... have you checked there to see what the FN + F4 action is set to?
