T42 Wireless Upgradeable(MPCI)
If a T42 is listed as "Wireless Upgradeable (MPCI)", what does that mean? I'm considering the purchase of a T42 without wifi, but the machine type (2373-4TU) and serial number show it as upgradeable. Do these T42's have the built-in antenna but lack the mini-pci card? I don't want to buy a T42 without a built-in antenna at minimum so I thought I'd consult the Thinkpad experts here. Much thanks!

Re: T42 Wireless Upgradeable(MPCI)
It means the ThinkPad has the antennas in the LCD assembly and you can fit a suitable mini-PCI wireless card into the T42 with a modest amount of disassembly... there are instructions on the IBM support web site. IBM/Levono has several suitable WiFi cards.Highwayman wrote:If a T42 is listed as "Wireless Upgradeable (MPCI)", what does that mean?
