T42P MB came today, I noticed a broken part NO 56K (PIC)
received my T42P motherboard today and I noticed a broken part. Its one of the 2 square parts...one of the legs seems to have a broken solder point. Does anyone know what this part is? Should I send it back to the seller or just have it fixed (soldered)?

I think more information of the piece broken is neede.
Look at the link above. I believe the part is where his finger is.
It's probably better to return the motherboard. Integrated circuits can be ruined if you apply too much heat trying to solder them without the proper equipment and knowledge. Additionally there is a risk of damage from electrical discharge if you aren't careful.

I concur. From the pic, I can't tell if it's a transformer, capacitor,or something else, but a broken solder connection on anything like that will spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E. IMHO, send it back with a stern note about poorly QA'ed parts.
