PowerPlay Disabled when on AC power?

#1 Post by JHaislet » Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:21 am

Simple enough, is PowerPlay automatically disabled when on AC power? For example, I WANT to use PowerPlay when on AC power (docked) so the graphics chip stays cooler and the fan doesn't run as much. Yet, I've tried sliding it to "Balanced" and even "Optimal Battery Life", yet the PowerPlay status never changes (even after a reboot). It always stays on Optimum Performance.

Any ideas? It's done this with both the modded Catalyst drivers and all the IBM ATI drivers.
