Why does it seem like there is always a bluetoothupdate on my T43. Also a few times when restarting over the 10 months I have had windows says found new hardware bluetooth driver. ?? I am the only one?

If it works..don't fix it! Also if you have automatic updates set to download and install; then this could be an issue also...wantathinkpad wrote:Why does it seem like there is always a bluetoothupdate on my T43. I think that the answer relates to how you did the previous installation; if you found the update on, say, Lenovo's website; downloaded and installed 'yourself', Software Installer (and System Update, but this seems to be a mess) does not always recogise the update.
You should be able to clear the problem by actually doing the installation via Software Installer -Well that is what I have found, anyway.

Oh No. I always use Software Installer. For me all the updates just work. No change in anythhing on my computer. Only one that had trouble as Acess Connections. i didn't like iti 4.0-.411 didn't like either of them. So I went on here and somebody sent me the link to get. 3.75.
My post was really to find out if anyone had alot of bluetooth updates. I mean the keyboard customizer updates like every 2-3 months which is no big deal. But I figured bluetooth would be like acces connections, BIOS etc only every 4-5 months. I mean it is just bluetooth why constantly change drivers. But again this may only be my T43 doing that.

There are some 'funnies' with the software installer. On my T43, looking at installed drivers (View driver and application version information) gives a slightly different list to ending up with the list having looked for anything to install. (BIOS version and Embedded Controller Program Update are two things that come to mind; they are on the 'view' list, but not on the 'install' list.)
Wrt Bluetooth, viewing the installed driver list gives two instances of the Bluetooth s/w, both same version.

Last time I did an update of the Bluetooth software, it required uninstallation of the previous version, then installation, and my BT failed to work or connect with anything. I had to roll back. Subsequent reinstallation of the new version from c:\drivers\ worked. But I see no improvement. In fact, I can't send pics or files from my phonecam, but that seems to be a problem with the phone.
Based on that happy little [omitted] fire drill, I really don't think I need to update again. Latest drivers appear to be for the new Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate that comes in the Z's and T60s. Even IF the software is backward compat with my CDC, I see no reason to tempt the Fates again.
