16:9 external display problem

#1 Post by danda821 » Sat Jun 10, 2006 12:53 am

I have a 16:9 LCD television. When I connected it to my thinkpad, I can only choose 4:3 external resolution, and there is always some distortion. Is there anyway I can choose wxga as the external resolution? My thinkpad LCD is SXGA+. Thanks.

Try booting up with the TV connected. Seems sometimes Windows needs to "see" the external monitor/TV device to start loading appropriate resolutions.

I usually connect to my tv with a dock and through the DVI-D interface, in which case, booting up, it recognizes the HDTV's 1920x1280 resolution and offers it on the setting tab of DESK.CPL (display control panel).
