Hard disk partition of IBM T42

#1 Post by pitikorn » Sat Aug 07, 2004 3:38 pm

Sorry to bother you guys, I'm really new here and my following question might be really stupid :?

- How can I partition my hard disk to 2 drives? Now it has only C: drive with Win XP Pro installed on it.

- If I seperate the drive to C: and D:, will I have a problem with the 4GB (ThinkPad preload Recovery software) hidden drive?

I have searched the topic about formatting hard dreive in many threads but couldn'e find any close answer

Thank you so much.

Your T uses the PreDesktop Area which is not a standard partition. Partioning yourself might work, but I would be inclined to use Partition Magic 8 or better. I have PM and that is my approach. ... JDHurst

Just remember to o into the BIOS and 'Un-hide' the hidden partition otherwise Partition Magic won't be able to do anything - afterwards you can hide it again...
