Intel 2915 installed 2100 still present??

#1 Post by Hotbrick » Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:53 am

I have the following problem:

I replaced my Intel 2100 B with a 2915 ABG mini PCI card.
Installed the new driver and everything looks OK:
The 2915 has connection with my (Hotbrick) router according to access connections and windows. But there's no internet connection.
When I use the wired connection I do have internet; so that's not the problem.
When I ran a diagnostic test it said that the ping test with the 2100 card was succesfull and the test with the 2915 was also successfull!?

How can I completely remove the 2100 as I assume that this is the problem? Windows named the 2915: 'wireless connection 2' but I cannot find anything about the 'wireless connection 1'.

Anyone ideas? I ran out of them :( ....

First, go to Start > Run, then browse to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANCX2A and choose Setup.exe. Click on Open, then on OK. Now choose the Repair option. Hopefully this will work for you. If not, go to the next step below.

Next try this: Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, and uninstall all your Intel Software and Drivers, then reboot and cancel any Found Hardware Wizards. Next install your Intel Software and Drivers, then reboot again.

  • Right ckick on the My Computer icon on the desktop.
    Select Properties.
Select the Hardware tab, then select Device Manager.
Double left click on Network Adapters in the displayed list.
If the 2100 is still displayed in the list, right click on it, then select Properties.
Click on the Driver Tab, then click on Uninstall.
You should be then prompted with a warning message that you are about to uninstall the device, so click OK.
If the 2100 doesn't display on the Device Manger list, you will need to do a manual hunt around for any remaining device drivers.

Cheers,

Bill
