Zeroshock and 15 incher? Also pixel content!
Zeroshock and 15 incher? Also pixel content!
Got my new 2373CWU a few days ago.
Wow, what a nice laptop. Truly surpasses my expectations as far as construction quality. Also received it much faster than expected. Got to my house five days after I had placed the order.
I ran the PC Doc screen test and found one stuck green pixel. At first I was a bit bummed but the I realized that I could only find it with the solid red screen and even then I had to confirm with a magnifier that it was a pixel issue and not a speck of dust. With a white screen it takes me 30 seconds to find it even knowing which area to look at. In other words, visually completely negligible for me. I also remembered the story about Persian rug makers. They will make one mistake in the knotting of the rug on purpose, since only God is supposed to be perfect and anything man made should be imperfect lest it angers the Big Guy. Maybe this thought will sooth some of you with pixel issues. (Nah, probably not.) Here is another one: A Japanese carpenter was working on the perfect wooden box for many, many years. When he was finally satisfied with it, he keeled over and they used the box as his coffin!
Anyway, I am as happy as a clam with this machine.
Coming to the point, finally. I was looking at the various options for laptop cases and I like the simplicity of the zeroshock sleeves. The medium size is just a few millimeters short in depth but I thought that maybe the case is sufficiently stretchy to accommodate the 15 inch T42.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks!

Thanks lappot!
You have posted the more elocuent post for those who have only 99.9999% of the screen funtional.
Unless you are wiping the screen every 5min, the average dust on screens let us see anyways around 99.99%.

X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)

Wow, I can't believe that we can actually tell whether or not 0.00006% (I actually calculated that, 1 pixel out of a SXGA+ screen
) of the screen is missing or not at the glance of an eye!! If you told me that your visual ability was accurate to 99.999932%, I would have thought you were dreaming. Maybe we thinkpad owners do have super visual sensory after all
