just noticed today that my T42p has a dead pixel
how can I get rid of that?
can I "rub" it somehow?

Dead pixels generaly don't just get rubed away.

They can only get "rubbed" away in very rare and isolated instances when a pixel unit may have static issues or poor conduction for some manufacturing reasons. Not likely to work, but there's a chance it may. I had a single thoroughly dead pixel (not a video artifact, which happens from time to time) for 2 weeks until the first time I rubbed the screen to clean it with a damp cotton towel. It somehow "massaged" back to life
