Cpu woes

#1 Post by rosemarycane » Sat Jun 24, 2006 3:11 pm

After contacting Sam palmansano with an email, I received a call from lenovo excecutive relations. I explained to the gentleman that my laptop was clocking itself up from 800mhz to 2ghz after returning from standby. This is on battery power with maximum battery life as the power scheme. The computer does not return to 800mhz after this.

The gentleman from lenovo talked to one of his techs who said this is a feature of intels speed step technology. Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks,
Sean

With maximum battery power scheme, a pentium M should always stay at lowest clock (800MHz in your case) when running power from battery.

What Sugo mentioned is for Maximum Battery Life; the Maximum Performance scheme will clock the CPU up to 2.0GHz. They both have "Maximum" in the name.

Still, contacted Sam with an email did you? I didn't know he personally handled support questions like this...Good one...

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
