T42 2373 driver question

#1 Post by DragonCooler » Fri Jun 30, 2006 4:54 am

I need the driver for the philips wifi card 12127-e that comes standard in a T42. I cant find one anywhere for the life of me. it will be going into a non IBM computer so the ibm driver doesnt work.

I really need one because i dont want to have to take both laptops apart again. LOL

Thank you very much in advance!

I have a T42, and this is the first I ever heard of a Phillips WiFi card coming standard on a T42. Maybe I just haven't looked in the right places. Where did you get this information? If you start Access IBM, and click on System information > Warranty & parts, what is the information displayed for the WiFi adapter? For instance, on my T42 the following is displayed: 93P3483 INTEL PRO WIRELESS 802.11B/G MINI-PCI AD.

My 2373 came with the same Indel card that GomJabbar has which I thought was standard. Are you sure you're right about that wifi adaptor? A search for the model number on the philips website comes up with zero results.

Doing that will get you the part numbers for the unit as shipped, not as it's presently configured.

You need to click on "Advanced" to get the listing for what's actually in the machine.

that number came off the wifi card itself, after i pulled it from the machine. i might have to open it again, but i am pretty sure that is the modle number.

yes it came from the original t42 2373 6zu.

The Philips mini-PCI card is what is called the "IBM" mini-PCI card. The drivers are here:

Good luck!

When he said: "comes standard", I assumed he meant "as shipped".

The driver referred to by EOMtp is the correct driver for the card. Try this. Go to Windows Add or Remove Programs, and uninstall the driver. Reboot and cancel any found hardware wizards. Next install the IBM driver referenced above.

If the above doesn't work, you may have to try the following to uninstall the existing driver.

You Cannot Install Driver Files for Your Network Adapter and You Receive a "Cannot Install This Hardware" Error Message
