active desktop--how much CPU does it use on your laptop?
Edit:
Old topic, new question. What's the CPU useage for IBM's active desktop? Check svchost.exe in the Task Manager--find the one that's using the most memory (20+mb for me). For me, the CPU useage bounces up/down btwn 0 and 5%. I thought that was weird until I realized what was going on. Is this normal?
Hey all,
I saw someone on an airplane earlier w/a T4x laptop, and he had this desktop display that showed his battery life, wireless strength, and the like. I assume it was an active desktop...but yeah...where to get this? Any thoughts on it? I thought it was pretty neat...but if y'all think it's stupid, then I may not bother, lol
thanks in advance,
-Eric

old topic, new question:
How many CPU cycles does IBM's active desktop use for you? If you need help identifying it, it'll be one of the svchost.exe tasks in the Task Manager, the one that uses the greatest amt (20+mb for me) of memory.
For me, the useage bounces up/down btwn 0 and 5%ish. I thought something was wrong w/my machine until I realized what was going on. Makes the graph look really odd...tons of little spikes next to each other...kind of like those sound intensity charts.
