Partitions...

#1 Post by QbA » Wed Aug 11, 2004 10:14 pm

I just received my TP today. My first step is to divide my HDD. I have two options (that I am ware off):
- clean install Windows + format HDD in setup
- Partition Magic

What would you recommend?

How do you disable the hidden partition in bios? I will receive my recovery CD's tomorrow.

Thanks.

Partition Magic is a good thing to have around anyway - it's come in handy for me several times.

You might also look at BootitNG - http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/bootitng.html - it's cheaper and I've heard good things about it.

OTOH there are advantages to doing a clean install too, especially if you don't want/need a lot of the bundled IBM applications and have a retail copy of Windows that you can install.
