need help with a bios flash

trying to update the EC and BIOS on my machine. I remember reading somewhere someone posted how to download the file manually, then running the full filename with -s -x on the end of it or something like that.

This worked on a friend's machine who had a similar problem, but i can't find the posting. basically, the updates hang during the process. last time i waited 10 minutes before turning it off.

IF anyone knows what i'm talking about, please let me know.

it basically leaves the file in a specific place and autoruns the installer for you without having to go thru the steps.

what machine are you trying to flash? last time i flashed my t42 i had to do the EC first, everything was done through the IBM BIOS update utility so it's kind of a no- brainer.
