just curious: are all T42's made in China?

I got my tracking number from IBM the other day. They mentioned a 10 day wait, but my package "shipped" out from CHEK LAP KOK, Hong Kong after only 5 days (which includes the weekend). For some reason, I paid for ground shipping, but they bumped it up to 2-day UPS for free. Not that im complaining

Yeah, it says made in China for my T42 too.

It's pretty hard to actually ship via ground from Hong Kong!

i wonder... is this just because they're new, or an extreme example of JIT inventory.... as time goes on, will IBM stock/ship them from the US?

They shipped my last two directly from Hong Kong.
